The town is small and compact with independent shops, restaurants, cafés, pubs, takeaways — giving it a strong local character. 2. Bala Lake Railway - www.bala-lake-railway.co.uk Narrow-gauge railway from Llanuwchllyn to Bala/Bala to Llanuwchllyn - The Llangower Halt Station is within easy walking distance of the campsite. 3. Bala Adventure and Watersports Centre (LL23 7SR)- https://www.balawatersports.com The Centre (situated at the main foreshore car park) offers exciting outdoor activities and adventures for individuals, families, and groups. Tuition and equipment hire available for paddleboarding, kayaking/canoeing, and sailing. Exclusive discount for guests staying at the campsite when booking in advance direct with the centre. 4. National White-Water Rafting Centre (LL23 7NU) - www.nationalwhitewatercentre.co.uk Offers white water rafting adventures and Outdoor Adventures. Manon’s Riverside Café dog friendly on-site café is open to the public. An ideal spot to enjoy a bite to eat or a freshly brewed coffee. Why not enjoy a walk along the Riverside Walk / Tryweryn Trail. Ask at the Centre for further information. 5. Mary Jones Pilgrim Centre (LL23 7YF) - www.maryjones.org.uk Tells the story of Mary Jones and Thomas Charles, a founder of the British and Foreign Bible Society. Location: Edge of Llyn Tegid, in a Grade 2 listed building. Facilities: Café and Picnic area, Children’s playground and Car Park. You can also sail, kayak, or paddleboard directly from the campsite to the centre and café, making for a fun and scenic lake adventure. Ask at Reception for directions. Great for a family-friendly educational day out. 6. Corris Caverns (SY20 9RF)- www.caverns.wales Discover Wales underground and above ground.
