Local Amenities The small market town of Bala is just 3 miles away and provides shops, restaurants, leisure and water sports centres, pubs and takeaways. A narrow-gauge railway running from LLANUWCHLLYN to BALA runs to the rear of the site and the Llangower Halt station is within easy walking distance from the campsite. (www.bala-lake-railway.co.uk) The National White Water Centre, (LL23 7NU - 5 miles from campsite) offers fantastic white water rafting adventures. (www.nationalwhitewatercentre.co.uk) Manon’s Riverside Café is located at the Centre and is open to the public, an ideal spot to enjoy a bite to eat or a freshly brewed coffee. (Dog Friendly) Or why not enjoy a stroll along the Riverside Walk (Tryweryn Trail). Further details can be obtained from the centre. Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) (www.eryri-npa.gov.uk) is the largest National Park in Wales. It boasts the highest mountain Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) and the largest natural lake. (Llyn Tegid/Bala Lake).
